“Elkhart Kansas”

Posted on May 23, 2009

We are in Elkhart Kansas tonight.  It is a one of those idealic “Middle America” small towns.  We just finished having dinner at the “Jim and I” restaurant and literally everyone that walked in the door knew everybody else there(excluding us of course).  And I am pretty sure it is some kind of requirement that you wave at everyone you pass while driving around town.  The people are super friendly and we are enjoying ourselves.  We are here to shoot a wedding.  We start shooting at 9:30 in the morning.  Eric and Bethany are the happy couple.  We had the pleasure of meeting them earlier this evening when we stopped in on the rehearsal.  I will upload some photos later this week of the “Big Day”.

“Learning to Fly”

We just finished up a really fun senior photo shoot this afternoon.  Melanie and her mom were so nice and easy going.  Melanie is a beautiful young woman and a very talented dancer.  During our shoot we made some room in the studio for her to show off some of her stuff and get some really cool shots.  I must admit, I was not expecting this.  When she did the move pictured above I almost dropped my camera.  I felt bad for her.  She had to do this one several times so I could get the timing just right.  But I did not want to let her out of the studio without getting this image.

“The Crave Craze”

Sorry, I know it has been awhile since my last post.  I have been pretty busy lately and unfortunately my blog tends be one of the first things that gets neglected.  I thought I would post a few photos from a shoot last night.  The shoot was for the band Crave.  They are local band here in Amarillo as well as some friends of mine.  When I get some information on their next show I will post it so everyone can be sure to go check them out.

“Props To My Nephew”

Posted on March 16, 2009

I just wanted to give some props to my nephew Conner.  This is from a photo shoot I did a few months ago as a request from my sister-in-law.  I did some post processing in Photoshop to achieve the look of this of this photo and I really liked the way it came out.  The shoot was done on location in the living room of their home.  Conner is an adorable kid.  He is real close to my son in age and I suspect him in Riley are going to be pretty good buddies growing up.  Here’s to you Conner!

P.S. Hey Conner, Riley says hi.

“Coach Tony Dungy”

Posted on February 27, 2009

I had a cool opportunity tonight.  I was asked to shoot the BSA Lyceum event for Amarillo Uptown Magazine.  The Keynote speaker was none other than Tony Dungy, the former coach of the Indianapolis Colts.  The event was to benefit BSA and their goal to add improvements and expand the pediatric wing of the hospital.  There was a huge turn out and I am hoping they were able to raise lots of money.  You always have to root for for the team that is trying to raise money to improve the quality of lives for sick children.  The photography was a bit challenging.  Always is in the heritage ballroom at the civic center.  The lighting is a little dark for photography.  But I managed to get some pretty good photos regardless.  I thought I would post a few here of Coach Dungy.

“Amarillo Symphony Ball”

Posted on February 24, 2009

I did some photography at the Amarillo Symphony Ball this last Saturday.  I was shooting for Amarillo Uptown Magazine.  My mother is longtime cellist with the symphony, so I am a fan of the cause.  The ball is a means of raising money to support them.  I have never attended in the past for comparison, but the place was packed, so I am assuming the event was a success.  Everyone there appeared to be having a great time.  The band “Le Freak” provided the entertainment.  They are a disco cover band based out of Dallas.  Even if you are not a closet disco fan, you could not help but have some fun.  These guys put on a great show.  And of course all the Bells and Beaux looked great.  Everyone did.  It was truly a  black tie affair.  Enjoy the photos.

“David and Karen”

Posted on February 18, 2009

A few weeks ago I had a quick post about a wedding we shot in Pampa, TX.  We had just made it back in town and I was in the process of uploading photos and I processed one for the post.  Well the photos are finished and the wedding gallery has been uploaded to the website for David and Karen.  I thought I would give an update and show off a few other photos from their gallery.  I know everyone always says the Bride is “beautiful”, but in this case it is certainly true. Karen looked stunning!  They were both just great to work with.  Amy and I really had a lot of fun.  So without further ado, here they are.
