“Coach Tony Dungy”

Posted on February 27, 2009

I had a cool opportunity tonight.  I was asked to shoot the BSA Lyceum event for Amarillo Uptown Magazine.  The Keynote speaker was none other than Tony Dungy, the former coach of the Indianapolis Colts.  The event was to benefit BSA and their goal to add improvements and expand the pediatric wing of the hospital.  There was a huge turn out and I am hoping they were able to raise lots of money.  You always have to root for for the team that is trying to raise money to improve the quality of lives for sick children.  The photography was a bit challenging.  Always is in the heritage ballroom at the civic center.  The lighting is a little dark for photography.  But I managed to get some pretty good photos regardless.  I thought I would post a few here of Coach Dungy.

“Amarillo Symphony Ball”

Posted on February 24, 2009

I did some photography at the Amarillo Symphony Ball this last Saturday.  I was shooting for Amarillo Uptown Magazine.  My mother is longtime cellist with the symphony, so I am a fan of the cause.  The ball is a means of raising money to support them.  I have never attended in the past for comparison, but the place was packed, so I am assuming the event was a success.  Everyone there appeared to be having a great time.  The band “Le Freak” provided the entertainment.  They are a disco cover band based out of Dallas.  Even if you are not a closet disco fan, you could not help but have some fun.  These guys put on a great show.  And of course all the Bells and Beaux looked great.  Everyone did.  It was truly a  black tie affair.  Enjoy the photos.

“David and Karen”

A few weeks ago I had a quick post about a wedding we shot in Pampa, TX.  We had just made it back in town and I was in the process of uploading photos and I processed one for the post.  Well the photos are finished and the wedding gallery has been uploaded to the website for David and Karen.  I thought I would give an update and show off a few other photos from their gallery.  I know everyone always says the Bride is “beautiful”, but in this case it is certainly true. Karen looked stunning!  They were both just great to work with.  Amy and I really had a lot of fun.  So without further ado, here they are.

“We Are Out of Here”

Posted on February 14, 2009

Me and the family are headed to the mountains for some much needed rest and relaxation.  Unfortunately, I do have some work I need to get done while I am there, but not much and I enjoy it anyway.  I am also planning a few photo excursions while I am gone, so I will post some photos when I get back.  We don’t have internet at the cabin, so I won’t be blogging for a couple of days.  If you send me an email, please don’t be offended if it takes me several days to respond.  If anyone does need to get a hold of me,  just leave me a voice mail.  I will make my way to civilization at least once a day to check my messages.  All right, we are out of here.

Oh yeah, happy Valentines day everyone.

“On Air”

Just finished up processing the photos from a shoot this morning.  The shoot was covering Morgan Tanner a local Amarillo radio personality.  One of the photos will be included with an article about her battle with heart disease in next Wednesdays paper.  The story is part of a series supporting the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women campaign.   Other then the fact I had to be at the radio station by 6:15 this morning(I am not much of a morning person), the shoot went great.  I do not know that I have ever been in a radio station studio before, much less during a live broadcast.  It was really cool.  I was worried that I might knock something over or somehow cause a ruckus that would be broadcast to all their local listeners.  But I managed to emerge with myself, camera and pride intact.

“Amarillo’s Humane Society”

Posted on February 12, 2009

Last month I did a shoot at the Amarillo Humane Society.  The photos were taken to go along with a story for Amarillo Uptown magazine.  I believe the article is going to be featured in the “get involved” section of an upcoming edition.  Other then that, I don’t know much.  I did have a good time and the lady from the Humane Society was a sweetheart.  Anyway just wanted to post a few photos.

“October Wedding”

Posted on February 6, 2009

We photographed Josh and Leigh Anne’s wedding this past October.  They are really nice couple.  Josh is in the military and had to report to duty in Kansas just a few weeks after the wedding.  The wedding took place at the wedding chapel on 6th street in Amarillo.  The photography went really well, of course it’s always a little easier with a beautiful couple who are obviously in love with each other.  Here are a few photos from there wedding.
